Since 2019 You Saved Me Foundation has distributed over 277,350 free Diapers to over 1,507 families representing 4,290 community members thanks to our Partnership with the Jacob Cushman San Diego Food Bank, made possible through the leadership & initial funding by current County Chair Supervisor Nora Vargas of District 1.
Free diapers can be a big help to low-income girls and women who are struggling to make ends meet. Diapers can be a significant expense for families with young children, and for those living in poverty or on a limited income, the cost of diapers can be a major burden. Providing free diapers can help alleviate this burden, allowing families to use their limited resources for other essential needs such as food, housing, and healthcare. In addition to providing financial relief, free diapers can also have positive health and social impacts. Babies who are not regularly changed can experience diaper rash, infections, and other health issues, which can lead to medical expenses and missed work or school. By providing free diapers, families can ensure that their babies have access to clean and safe diapers, reducing the risk of health issues and the associated costs. Finally, providing free diapers can help reduce the stigma and shame that some low-income families may feel about their economic circumstances. By offering support and assistance with a basic need such as diapers, we can help families feel more valued and supported, and reduce the social isolation that can come with poverty.
